The last time Montreal Impact played at MAPFRE Stadium was the crazy 4-4 draw that saw the final straw for Kei Kamara’s Crew SC career when he and team mate Federico Higuain argued over penalty taking duties. So, it was really no surprise that with Crew SC starting the game without a recognized striker and Higuain out injured that goal mouth action, or any action anywhereon the field, was nowhere to be found.
Steve Clark registered three saves in the first half to earn his 4th clean-sheet of the year but the home support had very little to cheer for as Columbus were found seriously lacking in creativity as Mohammed Saeid failed to step-up as playmaker for the injured Higuain.
Crew SC are at home again next week when New York Red Bulls visit MAPFRE.
