Columbus Underground is excited to announce that in partnership with the Gateway Film Center, locals can participate in the political process through the screening of the 2020 Presidential debates. Many of these free-to-attend event will include not only the screening, but also panel discussions, expert analyses and active conversations.

“Bombarded with information in our 24-hour news cycle, it is important to have spaces where we can slow down and talk to one another about the issues,” stated Gateway Film Center President Chris Hamel. “The cinema has always been a place for political commentary — our public screenings of the presidential debates maintains this important legacy.”

The next screening will feature the first Presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump on Tuesday, September 29 starting at 9:00PM. This event will not feature any advance programming to limit personal interactions during COVID.

Tickets to this event are available in advance at GatewayFilmCenter.com and are limited due to coronavirus restrictions. We require that all guests adhere to all guidelines put in place by the Gateway Film Center to ensure the safety for everyone.

Additional Democratic debate screening event details will be published on the CU events calendar.
