Clintonville Natural Foods, a new health food store, will be opening on Indianola, just south of the cafe. The store is slated to open by January 2016, according to anĀ announcementĀ made Monday on the Clintonville Community Market’s Facebook page.

Yiamouyiannis plans to offer a variety of locally-sourced food, including bulk herbs, spices, teas, and produce.

Portia’s Cafe, open since 2013, has offered food for a wide range of dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and raw diets. The cafe earned a slow food Snail of Approval from Slow Food Columbus for its sustainable food that has a low environmental impact. All ingredients are organic and locally sourced.

The new Clintonville Natural Foods store could be seen as somewhat of a replacement for the Clintonville Community Market, which announced in September that it would be closing after 17 years of operation.

Stay tuned for additional details on the new business.
