    City of Columbus extends demolition review process

    City to take more time to review demolitions

    While Columbus officials try to move quickly to tear down dangerous abandoned houses, a new city law aims to slow demolition of other buildings. Tired of seeing beloved or significant buildings fall to the wrecking ball before they could argue against it, neighborhood groups asked the city to give them more time to review demolitions.

    So Columbus now requires 60 days for demolition permits to be reviewed before they’re issued, up from 45 days.
