    City Council Considers Ban on Texting While Driving

    A special public hearing will be held next Tuesday, March 9th at 5pm at City Hall to discuss a City Code amendment that will address issues related to cell phone texting while driving an automobile. Councilmember Andrew J. Ginther, Chair of the Public Safety Committee, is spearheading the effort and intends to introduce some form of legislation after the hearing.

    Similar bans were enacted last year in Cleveland and Bexley, and a State-wide ban was also introduced last August.

    Public testimony will be accepted at the meeting. Anyone wishing to speak should follow the standard speaker slip procedure. More information on speaking at City Council can be found HERE.
