Fashion on its own is a great thing, all the colors, patterns, and great designs are an amazing amalgam for the eye, but what makes fashion even greater is when it’s done all in the name of a good cause.
That is exactly what Ashley Wills had in mind when she created Circa, a fashion event that promotes local businesses and raises money for good causes. Wills, who is also the blogger behind StyleOnHigh, created Circa based on her background as a costume designer as well her love for fashion history.
“I find myself constantly writing about decades past on the blog and how they are reinterpreted season after season,” Wills says on her website. “Historical eras are and always will be a major inspiration for innovative designs and this idea is the backbone of ‘Circa’.”
The 2014 Circa Fashion Show will take place at Vue on Friday, April 4th at 8PM, preceded by a cocktail hour at 7PM. The theme of the show is 20th century fashions, and how those styles influence modern designs. Some of the featured designers include Lubna Designs, Arlo Menswear, and Cierra Lauren by Cierra Lauren-Reeve. The show will be hosted by Heathers Wells, Miss Ohio 2013.
Immediately following the show, there will be an after party featuring performances by The High Definitions.
Sales from the show will benefit FLIP, a Columbus-based non-profit organization that focuses on health awareness and cancer prevention.
