    Cinderella and The Little Mermaid Announced as part of PNC Broadway in Columbus 2016-2017 Season

    At a launch party last night at the Ohio Theatre, the PNC Broadway in Columbus 2016-2017 was announced. An exciting new season awaits, with four productions never before seen in Columbus. Season tickets went on sale today.

    Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA
    November 22-27, 2016

    Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA is the Tony® Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of The Sound of Music and South Pacific that’s delighting audiences with its contemporary take on the classic tale. This lush production features an incredible orchestra, jaw-dropping transformations, and all the moments you love—the pumpkin, the glass slipper, the masked ball and more—plus some surprising new twists! Joining her are Sebastian, Ariel’s crabby sidekick; Ursula, the evil sea witch; Triton, King of the Sea; and the handsome and human Prince Eric. Based on the Disney animated film and hit Broadway musical, featuring all of the songs you know and love, and a few new ones by Oscar®-winning composer Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, Theatre Under The Stars production of The Little Mermaid is one the whole family will enjoy.     Beautiful – The Carole King Musical tells the Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning, inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music. She wrote the soundtrack to a generation.

    Tickets for the two season add-ons will be sold separately, with season subscribers being given the first opportunity to purchase tickets prior to the general public. 2016-17 season add-ons include:

    STOMP
    March 10-12, 2017

    STOMP is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, utterly unique, and appeals to audiences of all ages. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans.

    RIVERDANCE – THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR
    May 12-14, 2017

    The international Irish dance phenomenon is back by popular demand in Riverdance – The 20th Anniversary World Tour. Drawing on Irish traditions, the combined talents of the performers propel Irish dancing and music into the present day, capturing the imagination of audiences across all ages and cultures in an innovative and exciting blend of dance, music, and song. Of all the performances to emerge from Ireland, none have carried the energy, sensuality, and the spectacle of Riverdance.
