Chipotle Coming Soon to the Short North
This may come as no surprise to Columbus Underground forum super sleuths who have discovered hints that already date back a year, but it’s been officially confirmed: in 2014, Chipotle will add another restaurant to its local roster, this time in the Short North.
The new location will be inside the Fireproof development, situated on the corners of North High Street and East Second Avenue. This new mixed-use project began construction recently and includes 15,000 square feet of retail space on the first floor, of which Chipotle will occupy 2,380. The restaurant, once opened, will seat little over 50 guests at a time and will offer much the same menu as other Chipotles around the city.
“The project isn’t being delivered until late Fall so we don’t have an concrete opening date yet,” said Amber Gallihar, a Senior Account Executive with LiefKarson Public Relations, who represents Chipotle. “I won’t have much more information to share until we get closer to the opening.”
We do know that Chipotle has already secured the option to serve alcohol, which they will probably do at this newest store in keeping with the others.
We will share more details of the Short North Chipotle’s opening when they become available.
