Last Sunday, we broke the unfortunate news that after 29 years in business, Rigsby’s Kitchen had closed its doors in the Short North. While long time fans of the restaurant lamented the closure, Chef and Owner Kent Rigsby hinted that he would soon be announcing his next move when he posted on Facebook that “there will soon be a new curtain rising on my next act.”
Today, that act has been revealed, as Rigsby has posted publicly through his own personal Facebook page that he has accepted the position as the new executive chef at the New Albany Country Club.
“I am simply humbled and honored by this excellent opportunity,” stated Rigsby. “As a restaurateur, I have enjoyed longevity with my first restaurant that is virtually unheard of in this business. I am very proud of my track record but I firmly believe that change is a critical component of success and now is the time to apply that to my career instead of my menu.”
Rigsby will begin the new position on November 17th.
“Kent is quite a talent and we are thrilled to have him join the New Albany Country Club team,” said New Albany Country Club General Manager Tony Shill. “Our club recently underwent a significant renovation and his knowledge, skill and personality make him ideal to oversee the culinary experience of our members.”
The New Albany Country Club opened in 1992, providing members with access to high quality sports, recreation and social amenities. The restaurant facilities at the club include a mix of multiple formal and casual dining outlets on site.
