Chapman’s Eat Market Opens in German Village
The day has arrived for Chapman’s Eat Market to open for takeout and delivery.
The restaurant from Chef BJ Lieberman took over the former home of the original Max & Erma’s (then Wunderbar) at 739 S. Third St. in German Village.
While the interior has gotten a makeover, Lieberman previously spoke with CU about his plans to stick with takeout for now due to the situation surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
There’s takeout-friendly fare with a dinner for two Summer BBQ Box featuring dry-rubbed bbq beef ribs, Hawaiian pasta salad, dilly-pickled cauliflower and dinner rolls, with a pint of ice cream for dessert.
Champman’s is slinging creative flavor combinations of ice cream by the pint, with options like Chocolate Chile, Horchata & Cinnamon and Goat Milk, Raspberry & Chocolate Chip.
If a pint of ice cream just won’t cut it for dinner, there’s an a la carte menu with seasonal appetizers like corn salad and summer tomato gazpacho, and entrees like the grain and veggie salad, lamb shank barbacoa, Champan’s burger (single or double) and more. Sides include a mini-wedge salad, shoestring fries, onion rings and smashed cucumbers.
A rainbow of wines – white, rose, orange and red – are available by the can and the bottle, as well as a handful of cocktails and beers.
Chapman’s will be open from 5 – 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
