CD102.5 Opening Big Room Bar in the Brewery District

CD102.5 will officially open their new in-house Big Room Bar inside their station offices at 1036 South Front Street tomorrow night. The new venue will operate as a full time restaurant and bar, open seven days a week.

“The space already had the music and the people,” said CD102.5 owner Randy Malloy. “It wasn’t much of a jump to offer that audience the next level of entertainment which includes a great food and drink experience.”

This weekend’s launch will coincide with the 25th anniversary of the station, and will feature musical entertainment including Brave Weather, Jared Mahone, The Cordial Sins, Playing To Vapors and The Wet Darlings on Friday, with Bicentennial Bear, Yellow Paper Planes and R Ring on Saturday, and Jordan Kirk and Friends kicking off the first Big Room Brunch on Sunday morning.

Prior to the bar and restaurant conversion, the Big Room has served as an intimate concert stage that has hosted bands including Mumford & Sons, Muse, The Black Keys, Oasis and Arctic Monkeys since it first launched in 1996.

“We always joked that we were a bar with a radio problem,” said Malloy. “Now we really are.”
