CASTO Bringing Retail to View on Fifth Development

CASTO announced today that State Street Capital Realty (one of their independent brokerages) is taking on the position of leasing agent for the new retail space currently under construction at The View on Fifth development in the Fifth by Northwest neighborhood.

The six-story 285-unit mixed-use development will sit at 1005 West Fifth Avenue once completed, and will contain 25,000 square feet of ground floor retail space.

“State Street Capital Realty (CASTO) was easily our preferred 3rd party brokerage to lease the retail portion of The View on Fifth, because of their strong retail relationships, and their depth of expertise in the Columbus market area as well as with national and regional retailers and restaurants,” said Jerry Solove, principle of JSDI Celmark, developer of the project.

Retailers will have access to structured parking located with a freestanding six-story garage in an area known for already being a very walkable community with a high sales per square foot ratio in the dining and personal services retail sectors.

“Our brokerage had always been very selective regarding our listing arrangements. We feel strongly that that the combination of the developer and the location will make this a great development for the Grandview market,” commented Chad Hamrick, listing agent for the project.

No specific retailers have been announced at this point, but retailers are expected to cater to the mix of Millennial and Empty Nester tenants that the residential side of the project is targeting.

“I do know that there is a great opportunity for a restaurant user at an end cap which includes options for al fresco dining,”  said Sarah Benson Hatcher, Director of Marketing & Public Relations at CASTO. “I think CASTO will be selective with who the final users are because this is a special project and there is a great cool factor to it. We want to make the right fit.”

Retail spaces at The View on Fifth are expected to be available for occupancy in time for the grand opening planned in July 2015.
