    Cap City Dublin Opening Soon

As Cameron Mitchell Restaurants continues to grow and add new concepts, in the mean time an old classic has gotten a revamp. Cap City Fine Diner has two locations in Gahanna and Grandview, and soon its clientele will have a third option at Bridge Park in Dublin.

“We haven’t opened one in 20 years,” said founder Cameron Mitchell. “We always said if we opened a third, we’d like to open in Dublin. This opportunity came up, and we thought it was a good opportunity to do Cap City 2.0, if you will, so here we are. We’re excited to be opening.”

Cap City Fine Diner is part of a larger development project headed by Crawford Hoying. Bridge Park, with a scheduled completion in 2020, will include over 100,000 feet of restaurant space, along with space for offices, apartments, condos, retail stores, grocers and a conference center. The company reached out to Mitchell with the specific goal of making a new Cap City part of the development at Bridge Park.

It worked out for Mitchell, who’s long eyed Dublin proper for another CMR concept.

While Cap City is nothing new, typical to CMR style its Dublin location will look and taste slightly different that those in Gahanna and Grandview. One notable difference: outlets under the bar for charging phones — an unnecessary feature in 1987. Mitchell said all the guest favorites will certainly be there, including blue cheese potato chips, meatloaf and the “Seriously Big Chocolate Cake.”

The new restaurant at 6644 Riverside Drive is approaching an opening, with hiring of staff well underway. Mitchell said they’ll host three friends and family dinners before opening on July 11. CMR looks forward to opening more concepts nationwide, including a Marcella’s in Denver this August.

“We’re still continuing to grow our restaurants here in Columbus and outside of Columbus. Columbus is always going to by my home, but we also are developing other restaurants across the country,” Mitchell said. “We’re not growing for growth’s sake; we’re growing for our people, our partners, our communities and the charities which we support. It’s exciting, and we’re anxious to continue to build and open new restaurants.”

Cap City Dublin will open at 11 a.m. daily, closing at 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 p.m. on Friday through Saturday and 9 p.m. on Sunday.
