John Hard has expanded his CaJohn’s Flavor & Fire stall in the North Market and renamed it CaJohn’s Caboom Chili Co. The expansion, involving a move down the aisle to a corner space, allows the company’s chili, gumbo and etouffee, which had been offered as tastings on Saturdays, to be enjoyed on the spot as a meal.

Hard expects to have four to six types of chili — in three sizes and available for carryout, too — available every day the North Market is open, Tuesday through Saturday. Prices start at $2.95 for a small bowl.
