We’ve been on the lookout lately for interesting and unique menu items at local restaurants, so a sandwich board outside of Caffe Daniela advertising Panini Sliders naturally grabbed our attention.
We stopped in to investigate and found an assortment of the two-inch-by-two-inch mini sandwiches on display behind the front counter along side their larger counterparts. The sliders, which range in price from $2 to $2.50, were added to the lineup mid-summer and have been selling well according to Manager Daniela Milano.
“Most customers order two or three at a time,” she explained. “A lot of people prefer the meatball and chicken sandwiches pressed and toasted while others with toppings like prosciutto are eaten cold.”
The panini sliders are reflective of a new menu at Caffe Daniella that focuses on smaller portions and lower prices. The new menu is slated to roll out later this week.
“People love our lasagna, but it can be a bit too much for lunch,” said owner Joe Milano. “So we cut back the portion a little bit and drop the price by a buck and now we’re in a little bit better price range for most people.”
Caffe Daniela is located at 17 South High Street and is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pm.
