Gay Street will soon be home to a new place to drink Downtown. The North Carolina based Concord Hospitality Enterprises announced today that they would be launching the “Buckeye Bourbon House” in a 4,000 square foot space inside the Buckeye Building, located at 36 East Gay Street.

“This 61 seat upscale lounge will focus heavily on Bourbons, Infused Bourbons, and a full bar  with craft beer,” explained Robert Kennedy of Concord Hospitality Enterprises. “We’re excited to be a part of the continued development of the Gay Street neighborhood.”

Concord also owns and operates the The Residence Inn by Marriott hotel located in the same building, although the Buckeye Bourbon House will be a separate business and not just for hotel guests. The hotel itself underwent a $1.5 million renovation project earlier this year.

Additional details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, and the new bar is expected to be open in December.
