BrewDog Gets Political: Asks Trump to End Presidential Campaign

Soon-to-be-somewhat-Columbus-based (for US operations anyway) beer maker BrewDog issued a statement earlier this week, asking that Donald Trump bring an end to his political campaign for President of the United States. While BrewDog CEO James Watt isn’t currently eligible to vote in the 2016 presidential election (his company is headquartered in Scotland), he does feel that it’s worthwhile to offer his opinion about the GOP frontrunner.

“Building a massive wall to keep everyone out? Opposing same sex marriage? Insulting the disabled? Calling immigrants criminals and rapists?!,” says Watt in a blog post on his company’s site. “Your ideas are as misplaced as your hair, sir.”

Watt goes on to say that he’s gifting Trump two shares in his company to inspire the reality star billionaire real estate mogul to drop out of the race.

“Hopefully you will give a gift to the rest of humanity – that you will stop trying to become leader of the free world,” Watt says in a direct appeal to Trump. “Then we can all get on with our lives in that world filled with life, liberty and the pursuit of hoppiness.”
