Breakaway Lineup Includes Travis Scott, Diplo and more

Breakaway Music Festival has announced their lineup for 2017. The two-day festival, which will expand this year to Grand Rapids, MI and Charlotte, NC, featured Chance the Rapper in 2016 and garnered a crowd of 25,000 people. Taking place September 1 and 2 at MAPFRE Stadium, this year’s festival will have headliners Travis Scott and Diplo take the stage.

Rapper Travis Scott recently earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for singing the song “Goosebumps” 14 times in a row. His album “Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight,” released in 2016, was named one of the best rap albums of the year by Rolling Stone. Scott will share the stage with EDM “power-producer” Diplo, from the group Major Lazer.

“We are proud to be building the Breakaway brand into a major, multi-day festival while bringing in an array of talent from headlining artists like Travis Scott and Diplo, to cool, emerging acts like Blackbear and Playboi Carti,” said Adam Lynn, managing partner of festival production and promotions company Prime Social Group, in a press release. “After seeing the success that artists like Lil Uzi Vert and Cheat Codes had after performing at last year’s festival, we feel that Breakaway is the festival that highlights the next round of artists set to pop.”

Artists including 3LAU, Cashmere Cat, Crankdat, CVBZ, G4SHI, Getter, Goldlink, K?D, Kaiydo, Le Youth, Lil Yachty, Malaa, Mija, Oliver Heldens, Playboi Carti, Quinn XCII, Shaun Frank, SuperDuperKyle, THEY., Two Friends, and Ugly God will take the stage as well.

Zach Ruben, Prime Social Group co-owner, said they will be “utilizing all areas of the footprint outside of the playing field to build a fan-first experience with a one-of-a-kind layout.”

While Early Bird tickets are already sold out, two-day General Admission tickets are on sale for $95. VIP tickets are available for $160. For more information and tickets, visit breakawayfestival.com.
