The team behind Pickerington-based Red Velvet Cafe will soon be opening a new concept in the Fifth by Northwest area.
Bonifacio, a full-service Filipino restaurant, will open on the corner of King and North Star Avenues. The restaurant was announced in the wake of the Fourth Street Red Velvet’s popular Silog Filipino brunch series, which had its last hurrah this past weekend. Bonifacio will serve a rotating menu of modern Filipino cuisine.
The original Red Velvet Cafe in Pickerington opened back in 2012, with the South Fourth Street location following in Spring 2015. The family-owned coffeehouse and bakery is best known for it’s gourmet cupcakes, Filipino paninis, bubble tea, and specialty coffee drinks.
The Fourth Street Red Velvet will continue business as usual, serving their regular menu along with a few to-be-announced new items.
Bonifacio is the latest in a string of new restaurants opening soon in the Fifth by Northwest and Grandview Heights neighborhoods, including Balboa, Big Mamma’s Burritos, and The Avenue. The restaurant is slated to open in the next few months, though no formal date has been announced.
