Korean fried chicken is coming soon to Clintonville.

Casual international sit-down chain Bonchon will open its second Columbus restaurant at 2973 N. High Street, nestled between Lineage Brewing and La Patrona Mexican Restaurant.

Bonchon specializes in Korean twice-fried crispy chicken, glazed with either soy-garlic or spicy sauce. This location will be Bonchon’s second in Ohio. The first opened at 3586 West Dublin Granville Road last May.

The opening in Clintonville was motivated by a close proximity to OSU’s sizable foreign exchange student population, said owner Simon Ye.

The 2,200 square-foot restaurant will seat around 70, in a relaxed, pub-like environment. The menu will be essentially the same as its Northwest Columbus counterpart, with possibly a few additional Korean and Japanese-inspired dishes. The restaurant will offer a full bar, serving wine, beer, and mixed drinks.

Bonchon is under construction, with an opening slated for February.
