Columbus Blue Jackets players and their wives and girlfriends, along with pediatric cancer heroes, will model clothing from eight Columbus-based boutiques during the sixth annual Black Tie Blue Jackets Style Show at Nationwide Arena on Feb. 16.
Players expected to appear in the style show include Jared Boll, Grant Clitsome, Derek Dorsett, Kristian Huselius, Ryan Johansen, Aaron Johnson, Mark Letestu, Derek MacKenzie, Steve Mason, Marc Methot, John Moore, Vinny Prospal, Curtis Sanford, Antoine Vermette, and James Wisniewski.
This year’s event celebrates 10 local cancer patients between six and 24 years old.
“The Black Tie Blue Jackets Style Show celebrates the strength, hope, and courage of our cancer heroes,” said Jen Bowden, executive director of the Blue Jackets Foundation. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for kids, but it also has a very meaningful impact on our players.”
Astor & Black, Godfrey’s, Ladybird, Leal, Nicole’s for Children, Milk Bar, Rowe, and Thread on Grandview, as well as DSW, have provided the featured fashions, which will be styled by Wardrobe Therapy LLC. Hair styling will be done by Charles Penzone Salons.
The event, which will be staged on center ice and emceed by FOX Sports Ohio host Dave Maetzold, begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and model meet and greet. A sit-down dinner precedes the style show, which also features a live auction. Dinner packages that include the pre-show reception, a commemorative gift, and valet parking start at $250.
The event is open to the public. After-five attire is the dress code for the evening.
Proceeds will benefit the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation’s Hats for Heroes Program and related pediatric cancer initiatives. Dollars raised currently fund a variety of support programs for pediatric cancer patients and their families, critical research projects, and assistance in providing palliative care.
