    District North Now Open Downtown

    There’s a new lunch spot for Downtown diners. District North opened at 10 E. Long St. in the Atlas Building earlier this month.

    District North’s menu features mainly Mediterranean fare with a few American classics in the mix. Hummus, tzatziki, spicy feta, grape leaves, spanakopita and more are included on the starters list. There are also fries, wings, gyros, salads and a build-your-own bowl option.

    Vets Memorial & Land Grant Team Up

    There’s a new brew on tap at Land Grant. The Franklinton brewery has partnered with the National Veterans Memorial and Museum on its Four Pillars Pale Ale.

    The beer commemorates the first anniversary of the Museum, founded on the pillars of Honor, Connect, Inspire and Educate. The Four Pillars can design also pays homage to the Museum’s Remembrance Gallery.

    Four Pillars is available on draft and in six-pack at Land Grant, 424 W. Town St., and at craft beer retailers. A portion of the proceeds from Four Pillars Pale Ale will directly benefit the mission of the NVMM.

    Kitty Paw Debuts at Seventh Son

    Move aside, White Claw. Seventh Son introduces Kitty Paw. The brewery is getting into the hard seltzer game with the 100% real fruit, zero-carb Kitty Paw.

    Kitty Paw is available in six-packs in two flavors: Raspberry and Pineapple-Tangerine.

    Velvet Ice Cream Holiday Flavors Arrive

    Pumpkin pie and peppermint sticks are now available in ice cream form thanks to Velvet Ice Cream’s holiday flavor lineup.

    Velvet’s Pumpkin Pie features pumpkin ice cream, with cinnamon, nutmeg and bits of flaky crust. Peppermint Stick doubles down with peppermint ice cream swirled with peppermint candies. The Peppermint Stick will also get the ice cream sandwich treatment.

    Happy Birthday, Barley’s!

    More holiday fun for Bites & Sips! This time, in beer form. Barley’s Brewing Company, 467 N. High St., will celebrate its 27th birthday by tapping its Christmas Ale.

    The festivities are going down Friday, November 8 starting at 7 p.m. Honey and Blue will perform, and guests will get a free commemorative pint glass with their first pint of Christmas Ale.

    Matt & Tony’s Adds Brunch

    Raise a “Mimosa Carafe” to Matt & Tony’s Wood Fired Kitchen’s new brunch hours. After opening at 525 Short St. in the Brewery District in September, Matt & Tony’s is getting in on the brunch game.

    Brunch hours will be from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The menu will pull sandwiches and salads popular on the lunch menu and add in classic breakfast entrees. Expect Eggs Benedict three ways, a prime rib hash and more.

    ….And So Does SeeSaw

    Short North newcomer SeeSaw is also adding brunch to its lineup. Brunch will run 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

    Brunch menu highlights include the Skillet Pancake with cornbread, blackberry, cinnamon-sugar and fro-yo; “Sandos” like the Brunch Burger with cheddar, bacon, egg and mayo; and sharables that make s’mores a breakfast food with the S’Mores Fritters featuring graham cracker, marshmallow and peanut butter.

    Cocktails get in on the brunch action, too, with an Aperol Screwdriver – Aperol, vodka and orange juice – or the Adult Iced Coffee – Hoof Hearted nitro brew, vanilla vodka, Godiva dark, creme de cocoa, cream and chocolate.

    Fall Menu at The Market

    With the change of the seasons, so does the menu at The Market Italian Village, 1022 Summit St.

    The brunch, dinner and drinks menus all got a fall update. New brunch fare includes Burrata with poached eggs, brown butter hollandaise, walnut pesto, leoncini ham and arugula. Dinner dishes now feature Fried Hawaiian Brussels Sprouts with smoked tomato, pancetta, pineapple and pickled jalapeño and Sweet n’ Sour Squash combining delicata squash, pears, labneh, pumpkin seed tahini, pomegranate and ground cherries. 

    To wash it all down, diners can choose from the Autumn Americano made with chai vermouth, espresso Campari and soda, the Flannel Shirt with scotch, Averna, apple cider, allspice, lemon and bitters, and more.

    Cheese to Your Doorstep

    Halloween treats, adult edition. On Thursday, October 31 Snowville Creamery’s Raw Milk Cheddar will be available for online ordering.

    The A2 raw milk cheddar ages for a minimum of 60 days. It’s the only Snowville food product available through online ordering and is priced at $11.98 for two 8oz blocks.
