Big Ups Coming to Ace Of Cups in July

New York punk band Big Ups have announced a Columbus show date on July 22nd at Ace of Cups. The band is promoting two new tracks “Rash” and “Not Today”. Save the date and read more details in the full release below:

Big Ups made a splash in 2014 with Eighteen Hours Of Static, their debut LP on Dead Labour, and now they’ve returned with a split single on the can-do-no-wrong Exploding In Sound label. Featuring two new songs from the band, alongside two tracks from fellow ECB&B artist and rock-enthusiasts Washer, the split lashes out in stabbing fits of inner-city rage, picking right up where the LP left off.

Hailed by Noisey as “a band to watch” and labeled a “long lost Dischord/SST band” by Brooklyn Vegan, Big Ups ride the fine line between hardcore thrash, classic punk riffs, and the more technical and contemplative tenants of post-punk. They’ve been compared to Descendents, Black Flag, Fugazi, and even sludgier acts like Jesus Lizard and Pissed Jeans.
