After 26 years, Bexley Monk, located at 2232 E. Main Street in Bexley, will be closing on Saturday, June 26th. The Monk has long been regarded as one of the top dining destinations in Central Ohio, winning praise from a variety of restaurant critics over the years. Ownership of Bexley Monk changed hands last fall as GM Remo Stirpe and Chef Ben Geltzer purchased the business from former owner George McCloy.
Bexley Square, the shopping center where Bexley Monk is located is currently being considered for purchase by Capital University which is causing some turmoil in the community. There’s more information on that story in today’s Dispatch article: “Town, gown at odds on Bexley shopping center“.
For anyone interested in one final visit to The Monk, you have all this week to stop in for lunch, dinner or cocktails. More info can be found at BexleysMonk.com.
