Best Nonprofit or Charity of 2011: The Mid-Ohio Foodbank

Asking our readers to pick a favorite nonprofit or charity is tricky thing to do. Ultimately, every charitable organization stands for a good cause, and every nonprofit has a mission that some people will identify with and strongly align themselves with. So by no means is this recognition done at the exclusion of others. In fact, we strive to feature a wide variety of local nonprofits through our partnership with The Columbus Foundation, who produces the popular Philanthropy Friday series every other week and highlights ways for anyone to get involved with various local organizations.

That being said, the one charitable organization that stood out this year as our reader’s favorite organization is The Mid-Ohio Foodbank. For over 30 years, this nonprofit has helped provide hunger relief to Ohioans and works with various other organizations including over 500 food pantries, kitchen and shelters where fresh foods can be distributed to those in need.
