Columbus bar patrons were blessed with the grand openings of many new places all across the city, ranging from dive bars and watering holes to upscale lounges with fancy cocktail menus. Our readers voted the Oddfellows Liquor Bar in the Short North as their favorite new addition to the drinking scene, thanks to its accessible prices, hip location, and the “doesn’t-take-itself-too-seriously” atmosphere that carries over from the owners’ other venture: Late Night Slice.
Opened in August at 1038 High Street, Oddfellows is one part hipster, one part history, paying homage to the historic Independent Order of the Oddfellows building where it resides, while decorating the space with knick-knacks that look like they could have been acquired during the closure of Betty’s down the street. Oddfellows also got a food upgrade in October when Katalina’s launched a “brunch and munch” pop-up there that serves up their renditions of bar food Thursdays through Sundays.
