Best Festivals in Columbus of 2015
In the seven previous years that we’ve been running our “Best of” surveys, our readers have pointed to ComFest as the city’s number one big festival of the year. King ComFest was finally dethroned in 2015 by its younger counterpart: Independents’ Day, an alternate celebration of local music, local food and local culture.
After spending its first six years getting started on Gay Street, Independents Day relocated to East Franklinton in 2014. The event saw that move built out to its fullest potential this summer, with music stages smartly arranged in between destinations that included local breweries, a food truck court, public art installations, minigolf, variety shows, human-sized foosball and much more.
