Dessert is kind of a big deal in Columbus. Not only should you save room for it when dining out, but you should save extra extra room for swinging by one of the dozens of great bakeries, treat shops and dessert boutiques located around town.

And for three years straight our readers have picked Pistacia Vera as their top spot for desserts. They are the top spot in town for perfect parisian macarons as well as other creative treats like the chocolate passion fruit coconut tart (pictured). Acquiring treats from PV also got easier in 2013 as they recently opened up a second location inside the North Market.

“The North Market forever has been the great food landmark for our city,” said Pistacia Vera Co-Owner Spencer Budros in a recent CU interview. “We are truly honored by the invitation to become a part of such a dynamic and supported community.”

There is often a complex interplay between preservation and progress. From the contentious removal of centuries-old graves to the forensic analysis of unearthed remains, today’s episode navigates the ethical, legal, and emotional complexities surrounding the issue.  In the quest to honor the past while embracing the future, we examine what lies beneath the surface of urban development and confront the ghosts of history that still shape our city today.
