Last night, over 300 people gathered at the first ever Columbus Underground Best Bites event at the High Line Car House to taste some of the best gourmet burgers that the city of Columbus has to offer. Twelve local restaurants participated, serving up bite-sized portions of some of their menu’s best sellers, complemented by beers from Zauber and mixed drinks from Crafthouse Cocktails.
Every participant was given a token to vote for their favorite burger of the night, and we tallied up the votes to discover that the Ohio Burger from the Gallerie Bar & Bistro was the winner for the night’s event. The Bacon Brioche Bun was made-from-scratch, the patty was Black Angus raised in Ohio, cheese from Canal Junction in Defiance, and the blackberry ketchup and smoked onion dijonnaise were also made in-house.
If that all sounds so delicious that you’d like to try one for yourself, we’re sorry to report that you’re out of luck. The Ohio Burger is not currently on the Gallerie Bar & Bistro menu, but their Bistro Burger on the lunch menu at the restaurant is somewhat similar and equally delicious.
The Top Three fan favorite burgers of the night include:
- 1st Place: The Ohio Burger from Gallerie Bar & Bistro
- 2nd Place: The Triple Burger from The Pint Room
- 3rd Place: The Bombay Turkey Slider from Sweet Carrot
Thanks again to all of our participants, sponsors, attendees and volunteers! And stay tuned for more information on the next Best Bites event!
