On April 14th, Columbus Underground and Crimson Cup Coffee will team up to present Best Bites: Brunch, bringing together Columbus’s best brunch offerings for one spectacular breakfast for dinner experience. Columbus is filled with a wide variety places to grab brunch, and while you might already have a favorite spot, you could find a new favorite at this event! The event will take place at The Columbus Athenaeum from 6pm to 9pm. Today we are featuring some of the restaurants and the savory fare they will be dishing out at the event.

Columbus based pastry kitchen, Pistacia Vera, is a venture started by two siblings, Spencer Budros and Anne Fletcher, in 2004. Their commitment to traditional pastry techniques brings quality and detail to each item they make. With the goal of giving their local community something special, each item they produce is as beautiful as it is tasty. At Best Bites: Brunch they will be featuring a Salmon Tartare on a Housemade Rye Profiterole, which includes premium smoked salmon, crème fraîche, cucumber, tarragon, lemon, lime, shallot, cracked pepper, served with rye profiterole. For more information on Pistacia Vera, visit www.pistaciavera.com.

Forno Kitchen + Bar’s mission is to create a stylish neighborhood destination for local Columbus residents and visitors alike. Located in the heart of  the Short North, Forno is a unique stone-fired dining experience, as guests can watch a lively show of chefs working from the oven sitting front and center of their dining room. At Best Bites: Brunch they will be featuring a Mini Brasato Bite: tomato braised beef, farm egg, rosemary, parmigiano reggiano on ciabatta toast. For more information on Forno, visit www.fornoshortnorth.com.

The Guild House, a Cameron Mitchell concept, located in the short North reflects the creativity their culinary “guild”. The use of seasonal food brings freshness to the table. Diners can enjoy the hospitable atmosphere and cosmopolitan character – featuring repurposed wood, local art and contemporary accents – as they enjoy their creative American cuisine. At Best Bites: Brunch they will be serving their Smoked Chicken Hash: sweet potatoes, bacon, roasted poblano, caramelized onions, gouda, salsa verde topped with poached eggs.

Housed in Columbus’s North Market, Little Eater makes a big claim “we believe eating vegetables is one of life greatest pleasures”. Founder and Chef, Cara Mangini, is on a mission to put vegetables at the center of the American plate. Using local seasonal ingredients to create out of the ordinary vegetable based dishes, Mangini is on her way. At Best Bites: Brunch, Little Eater will be featuring a spread from their menu including their Spring Vegetable Frittata; Spring Herb Egg Salad with radish and dill pickle on house-made pretzel toast;  Little Eater Granola and Local Fruit Parfait with Snowville Yogurt and Honeyrun Farm Honey; plus their signature buttermilk cheddar biscuits. For more information little eater visit littleeater.com.

The Hills Market is a locally owned specialty grocery store, but they offer so much more. They have a wide variety of house made items from baked goods to entrees that customers can enjoy on site. Monthly they offer a Bloody Mary Bacon Brunch on a Saturday morning featuring build your own garnish Bloody Marys and plenty of bacon to go around! At Best Bites: Brunch they will be featuring savory bread pudding muffins with cheese, bacon and herbs. For more information on the Hills Market visit thehillsmarket.com.
