Best Bites Breakdown: Street Thyme Food Truck

Making something the ultimate it can be often requires collaboration. After all, two heads are better than one and all that good jazz. The same holds true for burgers, where some of the best creations, it seems, comes about when several minds and palates get together.

That’s the story with the Apple Bacon Brie Burger from the Street Thyme Food Truck. Chef and owner, Alex Emrich, casually mentioned to a friend one day he wanted to use apples on a burger. Pat, his friend, had one response to that idea: brie.

From there, the only thing to figure out was how to make it all work, and the addition of bacon and caramelized onions seemed to perfectly round out the flavor profile for which they were striving.

It only took Aunt Marsha’s final suggestion of tarragon-chive mayonnaise as the ideal condiment to solidify the emergence of the Apple Bacon Brie Burger, a big hit at the food truck, and sure to be a big hit at Best Bites: Burgers as well.

Anyone can make a sweet and savory burger (see the many variations of mushroom/ swiss/ caramelized onions burgers out there), but few take it to the Best Of level the way Street Thyme does.

Come see if the Apple Bacon Brie Burger is deserving of the Best Burger in Columbus title at the Best Bites: Burgers event, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 20th, 6pm – 9pm, at High Line Car House, 550 South High Street. [Tickets to Best Bites: Burgers are currently sold out.]
