For decades, Hoggy’s was a name well known in the barbecue world of Columbus, but the recession hit the business hard a couple of years ago, forcing the owners to eventually close all of their locations and consolidate catering operations inside the Johnny Buccelli’s restaurant at 830 Bethel Road. Despite those setbacks, fans will be delighted to hear that the business is ramping up operations again with a stronger presence on Bethel Road and plans to eventually expand to new locations once again.
The team at Hoggy’s will be making a big splash at the upcoming Best Bites: Barbecue festival on June 23rd with a big spread of food for guests to sample, including BBQ pulled pork, pulled chicken, beef brisket, and ribs that have been smoked behind their restaurant for approximately 13 hours over apple wood. They’ll also be slinging sides with their homemade mac and cheese, made from a secret family recipe.
