The restaurants known as Barrel & Boar have been called many things in their long history in Columbus. The company began as Yoho’s in the 1980s — one of the first commercial BBQ restaurants in the city — before a rebranding to Holy Smoke nearly twenty years later. As Holy Smoke expanded and the concept evolved over the past several years, a new brand and new name grew out of the business, which is now known as Barrel & Boar.
One thing that hasn’t changed is their commitment to barbecue, which will be on full display at the Best Bites: Barbecue festival on Thursday, June 23rd. The team at Barrel & Boar will be showcasing their spicy maple pork served atop grits at the event, bringing a southern influence to the party.
