Local BBQ restaurant Barrel & Boar is expanding once again. The company announced yesterday that a fourth location is slated to open in Uptown Westerville, inside the historic 8 State building.
“This is an incredible opportunity in the heart of the city I grew up in,” stated Stan Riley, owner of Barrel & Boar. “It will be a great compliment to the other businesses in uptown Westerville.”
Customers to the new location will recognize a familiar menu of BBQ platters, snacks, side, sandwiches, soups and salads. The location is also slated to have a full bar, but only if voters approve a liquor option on today’s ballot.
Barrel & Boar began as a catering business under a different name nearly 35 years ago, and was renamed to Holy Smoke BBQ when Riley took over and opened a vendor stall inside the North Market. Since then the restaurant has renamed again to Barrel & Boar and opened two more locations at Creekside in Gahanna and in Downtown Newark.
“I hope to open for private events in late December and fully open in January,” stated Riley.
