Barley’s Expanding Brewing Operations to Renovated Vine Street Building

The Keyes Plumbing building is a prominent empty building at 111-115 Vine Street, noteworthy for the fact that it’s well maintained and yet vacant in an otherwise busy stretch between The Arena District and The North Market. That is planned to change soon as new owners are proposing a renovation for the building, which will partially house an expanded brewing operation for Barley’s Brewing Company.

The Downtown Commission will review an application at tomorrow’s meeting that proposes a repurposing of the single-story portion of the building as the microbrewery space, while reserving the two-story portion of the building as a residential conversion in the second phase of development.

Fans of Barley’s original brewpub location at 467 North High Street need not worry, as the proposal only includes space for beer production, and not a relocation of their restaurant.
