After a year and a half, the Columbus location of Cleveland-based Babushka’s Kitchen is on the move. Their Beechwold location closed for good on July 20th, and the business is in the process of relocating to 5173 Sinclair Road.
“In looking at the long term prospects for Babushka’s Kitchen, the High Street location was not a good fit for us, ” said Operating Partner Dennis Bennett. “The new restaurant will be close to the previous location, it is on a fairly high-traffic road, it has good parking, and it is not in a dry precinct.”
Bennett says that the addition of a liquor license is on his to-do list for the new restaurant location.
“We are also reviewing the menu and assessing what changes we might make,” he said. “There is opportunity to generate a more balanced meal time distribution due to the daytime business population.”
While the location on Sinclair Road might seem a bit bit off the beaten path, Bennett isn’t too worried about being hidden from his customer base.
“Our surveys showed that most customers traveled more than three miles to get to our restaurant,” he explained. “Our new location is easy to find and the parking lot has a street light at the entrance.”
The opening for the new Babushka’s Kitchen is currently slated for mid-August.
