Anthropologie’s new Columbus store opens its doors today.
Located in The Joseph building at 625 N. High St. in the Short North, the store spans more than 5,000 square feet spread over two floors.
“Art is Anthropologie’s touchstone, so we are excited to have the opportunity to become part of such a vibrant, creative community,” said Abby Powell, a spokesperson for the retailer.
The Joseph’s modern glass structure provides a sleek contrast to the store’s rustic elements, including large, reclaimed elm barn doors and a grand staircase with steel scrollwork railings.
As one might expect from Anthropologie —a lifestyle brand that prides itself on highly stylized retail environments and catalogs— a considerable amount of time was spent on the store’s decor. In-house visual artists even handcrafted tree leaves in autumnal colors for the window displays.
Merchandise is mixed, with housewares and books next to clothing and accessories.
Loyal customers got the chance to peruse the new store —Anthropologie’s second in Columbus— last night from 6-9 p.m. during a private shopping party. Ten percent of the event’s proceeds will go to the Wexner Center for the Arts.
Store hours for the Short North location are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 12-6 p.m. on Sunday.
Anthropologie has 193 stores in the United States, Canada and the UK. To learn more, visit Anthropologie.com.
