    Announcing: Slow Food Columbus

Colleen Braumoeller wrote Greetings fellow food enthusiasts,

I hope everyone is staying warm with hot cocoa, short ribs, zuppa, a hot toddy or whatever else works in this deep freeze we call February.

You have heard from either me, Bear, Laurie, Haley or Lisa about Slow Food. I am so pleased, along with these other wonderful leaders, to announce the now official Columbus convivium of Slow Food. There are 150 or so convivia in the United States and a total of over 80,000 members worldwide. The existence of Slow Food Columbus reflects our status as a culinary city and gives voice to our desire for food that is “good, clean, and fair.”

We are in the process of planning our first very special dinner event at Café del Mondo in March, highlighting local Ohio foods. Details to follow later this month.

Visit our brand new website at SlowFoodColumbus.org, which includes lots of information about Slow Food and the new convivium. There is also a blog with comments from us as well as an option for you to respond or add your own comments. You will find links to fabulous things foodies would like to know, as well as descriptions of upcoming events. On the Slow Food Columbus website you will have the opportunity to connect to the Slow Food USA website (where one can become a member) as well as to the international site.

Thank you for showing interest in Slow Food. Please pass this note along to those you think may be interested. We hope to hear from you soon!

    Best regards and stay warm,

    Colleen Braumoeller
