Photos: Anderson East with The Lone Bellow and Hugh Masterson at the Lincoln Theatre

Elektra Records recording artist Anderson East stopped by the Lincoln Theatre on October 27th, playing to a near-capacity audience along with Brooklyn-based The Lone Bellow and fellow Nashvillian Hugh Masterson of Hugh Bob and The Hustle.

East’s energetic performance broke up the slightly mellower – but no less excellent – sets turned in by his tour companions. The chemistry between East and his band is evident when their vintage R&B richness wraps around his sweetly sandpapered vocals. The crowd eventually rose to their feet when they could no longer resist the tight chorus of guitars, organs, and saxes – especially on standout tracks like first single “Satisfy Me”, “Find ‘Em, Fool ‘Em and Forget ‘Em” and a rollicking cover of Eddie Floyd’s “Knock On Wood”.

East is currently on the road in support of his major label debut album, Delilah. Dates for his upcoming Devil In Me Tour – his first as a headliner – were announced last week, which will begin on January 28th in Louisville and continue to Birmingham, Atlanta, and Richmond. More cities are anticipated to be added to the schedule in the coming weeks.

The Lone Bellow’s current album, Then Came The Morning, was released in late January.  A European tour is scheduled for early 2016 with stops in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Denmark.  Masterson and his band are working on a new album scheduled for release next year.
