Aloha Streatery Brings Hawaiian Cuisine to the Streets of Columbus

What do you think of when you think of Hawaii? The oceans, white sand and cool mountains… maybe even surfing? But what about the food? Ever wanted to try it? Aloha Streatery is a new food truck that has been traveling the streets of Columbus, offering up Hawaiian cuisine. They have a menu stocked full with delectable Hawaiian sliders just waiting for customers to try.

Aloha began its journey about five weeks ago, and has been traveling around Columbus making their appearances at a variety of events. Sara Siv is the entrepreneur behind the truck, who launched it with help from her family and friends. Being from Hawaii, Siv says that she has worked hard to bring the culture and the flavors to Columbus, offering a variety of menu choices at reasonable costs.

“We had the concept of street food, and we wanted to make something flexible, simple and good,” says Siv.

Their two most popular dishes so far are the Pork Belly Lotus Slider and the Hawaiian BBQ Lotus Slider. While the sandwiches appear to be simple, a lot of time is spent making these dishes, with the pork belly slow cooked in wine and sweet island chicken that’s marinaded and grilled.

Aloha Streatery has travelled to many places around Columbus but have made their permanent home on Wednesdays at The Actual Brewing Company and on Sundays at the Roosevelt Coffeehouse.
