Alchemy Will Have a Full Kitchen at its Second Location

By the end of this year, Grandview will be home to Alchemy’s new expanded concept. Their location on Parsons has operated as “cafe-forward” for the last three years, offering bowls, sandwiches, salads, smoothies and juices. Along with that familiar menu, Alchemy Grandview will have a full kitchen, allowing the creation of hot breakfast, lunch and brunch items.

“We’ve been looking for An alchemy location for a long time now,” said co-owner Abed Alshahal. “We wanted to find the right place and the right neighborhood, something to really allow us to show some additional layers of the brand that we’re not really able to show down at Parsons.”

Alshahal and his partners will be taking over the old Phy Phom Pho space at 1439 Grandview Ave. The 1,400 square foot restaurant will give them room for an open kitchen, where all the food will be made. On top of the established Alchemy menu, weekday offerings will include Grandview-exclusive items, and on the weekend they’ll offer brunch.

A&R executive chef and former Angry Bear Kitchen owner Tyler Minnis is developing the menu, which will feature dishes like eggs benedict with a beet hollandaise sauce, avocado pancakes, and ancient grain porridges. For lunch, they’re selecting items that have shorter cook times for those with limited time.

Renovations on the building will makeover the front entrance and interior, adding “airy, modern touches” with a “vintage feel to represent the neighborhood that it’s in.” It’ll have outdoor seating as well.

Alchemy Grandview will open later this year (exact date not disclosed) and will operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the week and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekend.
