    AIA Columbus ARCHALLENGE Competition Down to 16 Buildings

    The competition intensified this week in AIA Columbus’ ARCHALLENGE survey. The month-long celebration of Columbus architecture continues as voters narrow their selections for their favorite buildings down to 16.

    Some of the closest calls were between the Columbus Main Library (280 votes) and the Ohio Theatre (282 votes) in the Early 20th Century bracket, and between the Ohio Historical Society (272) and the Ohio Judicial Center (290) in the Mid-Century Bracket.

    The top 16 vote-getters in the second round are:

    • Peter Sells House
    • Bricker and Eckler Building
    • Mid-Century Bracket
    • Wexner Center
    • Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral
    • Joseph V. Canzani Center
    • Ohio Judicial Center
    • Contemporary Bracket
    • William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library
    • Huntington Park
    • Franklin County Courthouse
    • Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture
    • Early 20th Century Bracket
    • LeVeque Tower
    • Columbus Museum of Art
    • Ohio Theater
    • Ohio Stadium

    There are only two weeks left before voters select the final four. Visit archallenge.aiacolumbus.org to view results and to vote in the next round. Voting runs Monday October 21st through Friday October 25th, to narrow the results to eight buildings.
