After One Year in Business, PizzaRev Franchise Leaves Central Ohio

Open for just a year, Gateway’s PizzaRev is closing its doors as the company auctions off its last two central Ohio locations. Its stores at 1607 N. High St. and 5010 Hamilton Rd. in Gahanna are being sold in live auctions online.

PizzaRev, founded in Los Angeles, is a fast casual restaurant with over 50 locations across the country. They announced their Columbus debut in April 2016, with the two stores set to open that June. Available on restaurantequipment.bid, the two locations are up for auction until December 15. Also up for auction are all the furniture, fixtures, and professional-grade kitchen equipment, including the wood stone oven “capable of reaching 900 degrees fahrenheit and fully cooking a pizza in three minutes.”

The restaurant joins what RestaurantEquipment.bid president Neal Sherman sees as surge of restaurant closures.

“In thirty years of liquidating restaurants, we have never seen such a huge number of restaurant closures in the United States as we have this year,” he said in a press release. “We have played a role in the closure of over a thousand restaurants in 2017 alone and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down.”

Auctions for each location can be found at restaurantequipment.bid/cgi-bin/mmdetails.cgi?rebid20 (Gateway) and restaurantequipment.bid/cgi-bin/mmdetails.cgi?rebid26 (Gahanna).
