800-Space Goodale Garage Opens to The Public

Convention goers will be excited to learn that the new Goodale Garage has opened for public use, just a few short weeks ahead of this year’s Arnold Classic. The new eight-story $18 million parking deck on the north side of the Convention Center provides 800 spaces open for public use, replacing a surface lot that previously only accommodated 192 cars. Travelers on Interstate 670 have likely already noticed the exterior LED lighting that has begun to illuminate the building at night.

“This beautiful new garage is ideally located to serve our event attendees, as well as our nearby restaurant and community partners in the Short North Arts District,” stated Greater Columbus Convention Center General Manager John Page.

Additionally, the new Union Station Ballroom has been completed as a part of the larger ongoing $125 million renovation and expansion of the Convention Center. The new 25,000 square foot event space will host martial arts, amateur boxing and grappling competitions as its first planned event during the Arnold Classic on March 5th and 6th.

Once all renovations are completed in 2017, the Goodale Garage will be connected to the Convention Center with a skywalk bridge over Goodale Street.
