79 Single Family Homes To Fill in Western Edge of Grandview Yard

Although we’ve known for some time that the western edge of Grandview Yard would eventually be filled in with some type of for-sale product, an announcement today from M/I Homes tells us more about what those units will look like and who will build them.

The Columbus-based developer will build 79 single family, 2,000-square-foot homes west of Bobcat Avenue and north of the completed Homes on Pullman Way (that portion of the development, built by Wagenbrenner Development, includes a mix of single family homes and attached townhomes).

“This is a once in a century opportunity, and we couldn’t be more excited about building new homes in Grandview Heights,” said Tim Hall, Columbus Area President of M/I Homes.

The new homes, which a press release called the company’s “first downtown community,” will be called The Homes at Grandview Yard.

M/I Homes was founded by Melvin and Irving Schottenstein in 1976 and has since built over 40,000 homes in the Columbus region and over 109,000 nationwide, most of those in suburban settings.

Nationwide Realty Investors (NRI), the master developer of Grandview Yard, has long planned for this part of the 125-acre development to more closely resemble the existing housing stock to west rather than the new apartments and commercial offerings to the east.

The first model homes in the new development are scheduled to be completed by next spring.
