The Columbus Foundation announced yesterday their annual list of “Nonprofits to Watch”, which highlights funding and programming recipients that are poised to make a big impact this year.
“The 2014 ‘5 Nonprofits to Watch’ are scaled for impact and growth,” said Douglas F. Kridler, president and CEO of The Columbus Foundation. “Every one of them will have a substantial impact on our community’s progress and quality of life.
Nonprofit organizations are a key component of the business sector in our region and are tied as the third largest employer in Columbus.”
The five nonprofits for 2014 include:
- Community Shelter Board
- Lower Lights Christian Health Center
- Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC)
- LifeCare Alliance
- Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC)
The Columbus Foundation and its donors awarded over $96.6 million in grants to nonprofits in 2012.
