If you need another reason to visit 400 West Rich, then you’re in luck! The 400 Winters Farmers Market kicks off at the Franklinton multipurpose building on Saturday with produce from Franklinton Gardens a the Owl Creek Amish Produce Action.
“We want to start small, grow into it and feel out the market and attendance,” said 400 West Rich Project Manager Chris Sherman. “Currently we have scheduled this Saturday from noon to 4pm and Thursdays from 11 to 2pm operating in conjunction with Dinin’ Hall. We will also have additional Saturday dates twice a month.”
The idea for a farmers market came about through 400 West Rich developer Lance Robbins, who owns and operates another large mixed use space in Providence, Rhode Island called Hope Artiste Village. A local organization there called Farm Fresh has been facilitating a winter market for many years. The similarities between 400 West Rich and Franklinton Gardens gave the group reason to give the concept a try here in Columbus.
In addition to food trucks, 400 Winter Market activities will include live music, art studio participation, break dancing instructions, children’s activities and more.
“Look for future collaborations and expansions,” added Sherman. “Our goal and mission is to help create new opportunities for artists, vendors and local growers paired with bringing fresh produce to folks in Franklinton who may not have steady access.”
Tours of 400 West Rich will also be given this Saturday, along with announcements and information about the new bar slated to open within another part of the building soon.
Tours will be given and announcements of future plans along with updates on our bar and gallery/event space.
