Graduation season is upon us, and Columbus is celebrating in full force. Whether your grad is celebrating a degree from high school, technical school, or college, these gifts will be sure to bring a smile and thank you. Gift your grad comfort for late night study sessions, lounging on the weekends, and cheering on their new favorite team with a new sweatshirt for the fall. A gift card to popular local eatery in town or their new city if they are moving away for college or work will be a thoughtful reminder of home as they explore. Or treat them to some new accessories for post-school life like a fabulous professional bag,

Ohio Socks from Originalities ($9+). Nothing says pride like sporting your home (or home away from home) state on your socks! Pick up a few pairs of Ohio socks from Originalities for your grad to wear post-college and represent their favorite state in the next phase of their journey.

T-shirt from Homage ($32). A Columbus-original, Homage will have your grad covered with the comfiest t-shirt (and sweatpants if you are feeling generous). Retro t-shirts featuring college logos and city favorites are easily available in-store and online.

Gift card to a local favorite in their new city ($5+). If your grad is moving to Columbus, check out a local favorite near their campus like Buckeye Donuts (right across from OSU’s main campus). Exploring their new home away from home will be even sweeter with a gift card purchased by friends and family.

Buckeyes from Colonial Candy ($9 per dozen). These peanut butter and chocolate treats are an easy gift for a Buckeye – whether an upcoming first-year student or new grad. Colonial Candy has been Clintonville’s candy shop for 50+ years, and their delicious buckeyes are made with all-natural ingredients.

Toast to your grad with The McBride Sisters wine collection available at House Wine ($$$). Cheers to graduation! The McBride Sisters was founded by two sisters and is now the largest Black-owned wine company in the U.S. Their line of “She Can” rose spritzers and “Black Girl Magic” wine will bring a whole new level of celebration to graduation dinner parties.

Mix a 6-pack of favorite Ohio beers at Perfect Pour ($3 a can and up). If your giftee is more of a beer person, mix up a 6-pack featuring their favorite Ohio beers or introduce them to new favorites at Perfect Pour. This is a great gift to welcome a new grad to Columbus or to share while you reminisce over favorite college memories.

The Congratulations Collection ice cream delivery from Jeni’s Ice Cream ($58+). Jeni’s Ice Cream is a Columbus-based favorite, and while available in cities around the U.S., nothing says “let’s celebrate” like a bright orange box of ice cream goodness mailed directly to your door. Check out their website for pre-picked collections or design your own based on your grad’s favorite flavors.

Bicycle from Johnny Velo Bikes ($490+). Columbus, along with many other cities and towns, works hard to be bicycle friendly. And a bike is a fast and easy way to take short cuts across campus. Johnny Velo Bikes will be able to set your grad up with a new two-wheeled ride along with helmets, baskets, and bike locks.

Headphones from Magnolia Thunderpussy ($3-$100). Whether someone is moving into a residence hall or starting a new commute, noise cancelling headphones will be greatly appreciated. Listening to favorite music, binge watching Netflix, or learning from a podcast never felt so good. Pick up a gift card as well for some new local music!

History of Ohio Stadium Typographical Print from Celebrate Local ($100). No matter what city in Ohio your grad is representing, Celebrate Local will have a modern and fun print (at a variety of price points) celebrating the spirit of that city. This shop makes it easy to pick up a print to frame and pair it with other locally made treats, t-shirts, or jewelry.
