    2018 Guide to Farmers Markets in Central Ohio

    If you don’t grow your own food or already support a CSA, local Farmers Markets give you a chance to get some of the best home grown food around. Here’s an updated 2018 list for you to get the best produce grown here in Columbus and our surrounding areas. Enjoy supporting your local farmers while feasting on the freshest foods!

    Powell Farmers Market, Spring/Summer Market for 2018 runs from May 19 through October 27 every Saturday from 9am-12pm. Preseason Markets starting Saturday, April 28. The market is located at 240 N. Liberty St., Powell, OH. (Corner of Liberty and Grace Drive). Fresh produce, meats, baked goods, teas, and more.

    Prairie Township Farmers Market, Mondays, June 11-September 24 (No Market on July 2 or September 3) from 4pm to 7pm. Location is 5955 West Broad Street (Prairie Township Community Center Parking Lot). Fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and bratwurst, mustards and jams, chocolates and baked goods and more! Special event dates scheduled for June 11, July 9 and August 13. Special events include food trucks, entertainment and cooking demonstrations. Accepts SNAP and offers the Produce Perks Incentive program.

    Reynoldsburg Farmers’ Market, 1520 Davidson Drive in Huber Park, Every Thursday from 3:30pm – 6:30pm, June 7 through September 27. Established in 2008, market visitors will find tomatoes, sweet corn, melons, eggplant, asparagus, beans, cabbage, onions, honey, flowers, herbs, and baked goods. Like them on Facebook.

    Smith Farm Market, a year round farm market that has been bringing Central Ohio an exceptional variety of local produce, plants, and delicious baked goods for almost forty years. Bakery has received a renovation. Two locations: Columbus – 3341 Winchester Pike, Columbus, Ohio 43232, Opening day event, Saturday April 28. Open hours are bakery open 8am to 7pm. Open for the Produce and Plants season from April through mid-December. Offers firewood, straw, and cider during the winter. Gahanna at 380 Agler Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, opening Mid-May.

    Sunbury Farmers’ Market, Sunbury Square, Every Saturday from 9am-noon, May 19 through October 13. Local produce, products, and homegoods. Like them on Facebook.

    Union County Farmers Markets, in Marysville on Saturdays from May 19 – October 6, 8:30am to 11:30am at Partners Park, Corner of Sixth and Main. And on Thursdays in Richwood from June 7 through October 4 from 3:30pm-6:30pm. Features vendors with locally grown, raised, baked, and made goods that are as true to Ohio as possible.     Upper Arlington Farmers’ Market, Every Wednesday from May 16 – September 26, 3pm – 6pm. Upper Arlington Senior Center, 1945 Ridgeview Road. Market held rain or shine. “Join us for Peak of the Pick from 3pm – 6pm on Wednesday, August 15. Celebrate the peak of the growing season with expanded activities at the Market, including live entertainment, tasty samples of market offerings and fun for the kids. Upper Arlington Farmers’ Market operates rain or shine.

    Uptown Westerville Farmers’ Market, May 2 through October 31, Wednesdays, from 3pm – 6pm, at the corner of North State and East Home Streets. The Uptown Westerville Farmers’ Market is a rain or shine market. In-lot and on-street free parking is available near the market and throughout Uptown Westerville. There is bike-friendly parking in Rotary Park at the southeast corner of North State and East Home Streets. Ohio Proud. Like them on Facebook.

    Westerville Saturday Farmers’ Market, NEW! May 19 through October 13, Saturdays, from 9am – 12pm on Grove Street on the Otterbein campus. Westerville Saturday Farmers Market will bring Central Ohio grown food and farm products to the Westerville community. Like them on Facebook.

    Westgate Farmers Market Open the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from June through October this season from 9am-1pm. Opening date is June 2, 2018 and end of season is October 20, 2018. Located at the West Gate Masonic Lodge, 2925 W. Broad St., Columbus Ohio 43024. They will accept cash, credit, debit, SNAP, VeggieSNAP match, WIC FMNP coupons and Senior FMNP coupons! The contact information for the market is: [email protected]. Like them on Facebook.

    Worthington Farmers Market, outdoor season – The summer market runs every Saturday from May 5 thru October 27, in the streets of Olde Worthington, 646 N. High St., from 8am – 12pm, in June, July and August the Worthington Farmers’ Market will be pen until 1 pm. Established in 1987, it’s one of the largest and most respected markets in Ohio. Over 70 vendors participate in the market which is held in downtown Worthington during Summer. Shop for fresh, Ohio grown seasonal fruits and vegetables interspersed with flowers, plants and homemade foodstuffs that vendors display.     Worthington Farmers Market, indoor season – Saturdays from November thru April, closed the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Every Saturday, 9am – 12pm at The Shops at Worthington Place. 7227 N. High St., November 4 to April 28. You will find locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables, locally produced cheeses, jams, jellies, honey and maple syrup, high quality cuts of meat from carefully raised farm animals, eggs from pastured chickens, flowers, herbs, plants, homemade soaps, and foodstuffs.
