If you don’t grow your own food or already support a CSA, local Farmers Markets give you a chance to get some of the best home grown food around. Here’s an updated 2018 list for you to get the best produce grown here in Columbus and our surrounding areas. Enjoy supporting your local farmers while feasting on the freshest foods!

Lancaster Farmer’s Market, Lancaster, Every Saturday 8am-12pm, May 5 – October 6 held at a new location for 2018 – West Chestnut Street between Broad and Columbus in Lancaster, OH. The market takes place rain or shine. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but should be on a leash. Some vendors accept credit and debit cards, SNAP/EBT, Ohio Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons. Linden Farmers’ MarketNEW! – New Salem will host a brand new Linden Farmers’ Market with the Ohio Farmer’s Market Network and the City of Columbus. This is part of the work set out in the Local Food Action Plan for the City of Columbus and Franklin County, and is in part a response to the closure of our Kroger store at the beginning of the year. The Market will kick off the first Sunday of July and run every Sunday through September, 1pm- 4pm at Gye Nyame Place. There will be food vendors of all varieties, as well as cultural products and vendors to support. There will be music and fun each week, so make sure you plan an afternoon to come hangout and support the market and community.

Mae’s Market – Not a traditional Farmers’ Market, but a great produce stand on the South Side of Columbus. Located at 440 Marion Road, Columbus, Ohio 43207. Open 8am-6pm every day.

Merion Village/South Side Farmers’ Market, Not happening for 2018 due to lack of volunteers. Group is looking for volunteers to help run the event to come back in 2019, If you’d like to be involved in a planning committee for a future South Side Farmers Market, please reach out to [email protected] Like them on Facebook.

Mount Vernon Farmers’ Market, Public Square, intersection of Main Street and High Street, Every Saturday from 9am to noon. Rain or shine. May 5 is opening day. Goes through October. Produce, flowers, honey, baked goods, pet snacks, seasonal cooking demos with professional chefs, and more. Find unique, handmade items at the Makers Market across the street in front of City Hall.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital Farmers Markets, on the following Tuesdays: July 17, July 31, August 14, August 28, September 11, September 25 from 11am to 1pm. Held at Livingston Park-760 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43205.

New Albany Farmers’ Market, 200 Market Square, Market Street Square, Every Thursday 4pm-7pm, Summer Season: June 21 – September 6. At this “Producer-only” market, you will find over thirty vendors with local fruits, vegetables, herbs, breads, poultry, beef, dairy, eggs and gluten free baked goods, and salsas. North Market Farmers’ Market, 59 Spruce St. The annual Farmers’ Market will now operate on both Saturdays and Sundays starting with the 2018 season! Our vision is to make participating in the Farmers’ Market an option for both local farms and local entrepreneurs selling hand-made & vintage items, fine arts & jewelry. By combining the former Peddler’s Picnic with our vibrant Farmers’ Market, we will have a bigger, more eclectic and experiential Farmers’ Market on both Saturday and Sunday. North Market Farmers’ Market will officially kick off on Saturday, June 2 & Sunday, June 3. Hours of operation will be 8am to 1pm each Saturday and 10am to 3pm each Sunday throughout the growing season. Pearl Market Downtown Columbus (Summer), This year, the market is moving across the street to the Statehouse due to ongoing construction in Pearl Alley. Pearl Market is held Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 am to 2:00 pm from May 25 through October 12 on the North Plaza of the Ohio Statehouse. Credit cards and Ohio Direction Card accepted. Offers lunch items, breads, produce, flowers, popcorn. Musicians performing also. Like them on Facebook.

Pickerington Farmers Market, in Olde Pickerington Village, 89 N. Center St. at Town Square Drive, Thursdays from 4pm-7pm, June 7 through September 27. Each week, vendors offered produce, meats and dairy products as well as baked goods, crafts, and more. Like them on Facebook.

Plain City Farmers Market, Located at the corner of South Chillicothe and S.R. 161 the “finest little Farmers Market around” is every Thursday from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. starting July 4 through October 4. Fresh fruits and veggies, baked and canned goods, order for poultry and eggs, cut flowers. Like them on Facebook.
